Dash color match exterior?

So I am working on my interior and was wondering if anyone has painted their dash to match their exterior color? My dash may need to be replaced, but if I can essentially find a good template online and cut my own, I may paint it a color instead of go wood.

Is this blasphemous? Should I be punished for even considering this, or has someone successfully done it in the past?

a couple people have done this and many more have made there own look out of metal or carbon fiber you'll need to
poke around to find them if you want to take a peek.

I have seen a lot of the aluminum and carbon looks. While it is a nice look, it's not quite what I am looking to achieve.

This is a distinctive feature of the early Alfa Giulietta, and I think it looks great. Maybe Photoshop an image to get an idea of the result?

The one guy that I remember doing his dash panel red to match the outside looked good he did some other small
mods to the car as well (bumpers) anyhow i liked his car don't remember his name sorry.

in the interest of opposing opinions I am going with no .... got to be another spot to pull outside color in to the car other than loosing the wood ..... stiching on the seats .... spokes on the steering wheel would be cool .... chrome strip in the armrests .... defrost vents
