The falcon here in Oz mostly has a straight 6 in it (and mostly with automatic gearboxes), there was however a eco 4cyl turbo model but the marketing guru's kept the 4cyl bit quiet....(most probably reasoning that in the past putting a 4cyl in a heavy car designed for a 6 didn't do too well, however a modern 4cyl turbo should'nt be an issue...) Some Aussie can't cope in anything other than a 6 cylinder in their Aussie made car and ironically that attitude has killed off our car market...

But as far as engine transplant go, I'd be tempted with an Alfa GTA 3.2 V6 motor but the faithful Lampredi twin can be built to handle some power, I do know that MTH car mentioned and for an 8Valve job it is a great build and plenty quick...

Oh hell yes I did! I had a black one with black leather interior... it was a screamer sleeper of a car. I raced a beefed up Camaro with it and kept up neck in neck with him. when we stopped and pulled over the dude was flabbergasted when he learn what it had for an engine!

I put a bridgeported 13B in a 914 years back. It would smoke the tires through 2nd and lay rubber through part of third. Pegged the tach and speedo, handled like a cheetah. It was simply awesome, plus it had a real heater. I pulled about a 14 flat 1/4 mile. I miss it so much I hate remembering it. I sold it when I had a house fire back in 98. If you want to see insane, look at the 20b 3-rotor they also make a 26b 4-rotor. They get like 600+hp from the 3-rotor. The mileage is a given, if you have horses, you have to feed them.

Rotary's are a crank with a side housing / rotor housing / side housing / rotor housing....think of assembly like a stack of donuts. If you have a longer crank with more journals, you just keep stacking. Here is a 6 rotor for an airplane....

The number of moving parts is reduced by like 75% and there are no reciprocating parts either, thats why they run so smooth.

Just google 20b rotary, start following links, you'll be impressed. I have been sold on these things since I was a kid back in the 80s. They're remarkable all the way around. Anyone your hear repeating bad information about them simply doesn't know what they're talking about. They drink lots of gas and are not very EPA friendly, they destroy exhaust systems from the heat, but that being the case, I LOVE them. A spider with a hot rotary would be a weapon on the street. The 914 I did was an animal and they fit great, they are small as hell.

Their first rotary car, the Cosmo Sport 110S, was introduced in 1965 and went into very limited production in 1967. These cars were basically hand built and only about 1200 were made in their production run between 1967 and 1971. They are extremely rare and highly coveted by collectors today, with only six known in to be in our country
