Just finished making my tonneau cover. Had one on my MGA now I thought my spider would look good with one. I love the way they work. I made mine so that it will fit with my windscreen up.

Looks like that would work with a roll bar too.
If you leave it as shown in the second picture does it flap badly when driving around and do you have to remove it completely if you are going to drive at more than neighborhood friendly speeds.

It did flap some at 70mph before I put on my windscreen, but after adding the windscreen it hardly flaps at all. You can lay stuff in the passenger seat and not worry it will blow out. I made it of course to keep my dash and seat seats from getting too hot in the summer and it acts as a boot cover as well.

Nice job. One to add to the list.
Assume you used marine vinyl with some kind of substrate?

Nope used vinyl I found in a remnants store. That marine vinyl is really hard to handle. Besides it's not going to be out in the weather and it doesn't get as hot in North Carolina as it might in let's say Arizona. I'm 71 so I think it will last my life time LOL. If rots I will just make another.

I like the logic.
Agree on the hard to handle marine vinyl. Frustrated the heck out of me doing my seats!

Hey Roller, I just noticed that you live in Foxboro. I used to work for a company whose Headquarters is in East Walpole. I used to come up there all the time. How are you surviving all that snow? Us Southerners would never make it( LOL).

Re: Tonneau cover
Hi Brackie:
Worst Winter of my 61 years. I have a true 3-4 feet still in the yard, and nowhere left to put the snow if we get more. What is not getting much press is the anticipated problem of basement flooding when all this melts starting this coming week. We are due for a few days above 40F. The roof collapse epidemic seems about over, but the flood epidemic is just about to begin. Local rivers and brooks are going to overflow like we have never seen. The Concord which always is a problem in Billerica, etc, will be catastrophic this time. I would guess that this is likely the largest recorded snow cover depth at Spring melt that we have ever had. Bloody mess, last Winter up here for us, I tell you. Completely done.
Pete

Re: Tonneau cover
I completely understand the imminent flooding problem. I remember the company I used to work for is right on the river there in East Walpole. They have several plants in Mass. and New York and they always build them next to rivers in order to use the water since they make special paper products. Can't imagine what they are facing. I hope your car is protected from the potential flooding problems.

Re: Tonneau cover
The snow is piled up against the side of the garage to a height of about 7 feet. Once it starts to melt, I will likely need some sandbags or something to keep it out of the garage.
