I need to replace these badges , the hood badge is ratty , some troll stole the trunk badge centre ,leaving the rest behind.
How are they held in place , little pins ?
How do I get them off without damaging the paint ??
Do I use masking tape to protect the paint and a thin knife blade to pry them off ??
Would it be sensible to marinade the old badges with penetrating oil before trying to remove them ??
Thanks for any advice

Sometimes you can use a piece of string string and keep moving it around the circumference until it pops up.

Re: 79 Spyder hood and trunk badge removal
Take a look under the hood and trunk under the badge . Mine have studs with small nuts on them. The front might have a round rubber access thingy to take off first.
if they are pins then protect the hood and trunk and pry gently off. My trunk had plastic captive pins and I used a thin piece of wood & towel to protect.
