Unknown part that seems important

Post by markintheair »

Hi guys,

I'm completing the restoration of my 81 FI and hope to drive next summer! I'm currently in the phase of "what the hell is this part?" :D It looks important and I have no idea where it goes. Does anyone have a clue? It's quite heavy and thick metal.

Pics can be found here:

It’s a bracket that goes between the bumper shock and the bumper on both the front and rear bumpers if you have the heavy metal ones. I hope that helps!

Ah that's right, thanks Dave! That helps a lot :D

This might not be my last post regarding unknown parts. I have one or two more things that I don't know where to put them yet 8) To be continued!

Couple months later now and I'm done with my restoration. Only 1 unknown part left:

Does anyone know where this goes? I vaguely recall seeing this around the gearbox maybe?
