Electric fuel pump

Post by pfrueh »

Hello Gentlemen, I disconnected the rear tail, and marker lights to paint the car and now it won't run even even when reconnected. Fuel gauge also doesn't work. I have spark and engine runs with a shot of ether but fuel pump not working even though fuse is good. Any ideas??

My guess is that the ground wire to the fuel pump got disconnected, or was compromised due to paint covering a surface where wires should reach bare metal to be properly grounded.

My guess is that the ground wire to the fuel pump got disconnected,
this ground and the tail light ground are in a single ring terminal that often is installed on one of the driver side tail light mounting studs. As Bryan mentioned the ground area is painted and the paint should be removed for a good ground contact.

@pfrueh, were you able to check the ground connection as suggested?
