I have heard of folks doing this, although I can't provide any details and it's pretty rare. The most common conversion is to electronic ignition, although that can have problems itself. Old-School guy that I am, I have always found the stock points ignition system to be just fine when working properly.

That being said, if you do have the dual points setup in the distributor, that was a royal pain to get it working properly all the time. Converting to a single set of points (or electronic ignition) is pretty common. I think dual points were used from 1975 to 1978 or thereabouts.

LOL is right, sorry 'bout that! Being an engine guy and not a suspension guy, I immediately thought coil over plug...

I don't have any experience with coil over shocks, so I can't help you there.

There is no place to mount the top of the strut w/o massive body/frame fabrication.

Why would you want to do it anyway? Double wishbone is very nice as long as the bushings are in OK shape.
