Re: center dash modification thoughts
Using the angling cups for each of those gauges that were in front of the duct really helped. I think otherwise it wouldn't have worked...

i'm in the midst of a custom dash project and will definitely need more space for gauges in front of the defroster duct. what is the deforster duct mad eif and how difficult is it to heat and shape? what angling cups are available to help with depth? thanks.

BTORAN: the one's I have are super super thin and very brittle ABS like plastic. maybe 1/16" thick.
Mine are a two piece held together with pop rivets. depending on what you do, may just be able to flex into place.
I'm attempting to build out of fiberglass by covering what's there. The mold I've got was too damaged in shipping to work..
so I may try to model out of foam board, seal and create with a resin soaked t-shirt (same process for custom subwoofers)
or.
just try and mock up some flex duct to a 1.5" x 9" flange adapter.....

It's pretty easy to shape the duct with heat gun..however you'll need angling cups...you can buy them in the gauge section at jegs.com. that is where I got mine..also angling cup may not be the right term...you can also make them from black pvc pipe..
