Good to know. I was planning on enclosing those once they are mounted since the contour may change a touch as they get screwed down. Update: I got the thing mounted using a curious combination of gorilla tape and gear ties. As bad as that sounds, it feels very solid. I'm partly proud and partly embarrassed but the radio console I'm working with is a little warped and has had the entire top of the radio opening cut off, so this is a method that affords a little flexibility as the thing twists into shape upon installation.
In the shameful picture, the gear tie that looks like it was balled up and jammed in there was actually meticulously bent and situated in a way that makes it as solid as a hard bracket, but with a little give.
I'll have to block that little opening on the face so you don't see the twisted pile of rubbery wire.
