Air horn on a 1975
Horn will beep (very short, just a little toot) on its own. Infrequently and unpredictably. “Mechanic” has made multiple attempts to fix without success. Ideas or insights? Anyone replace the air horns and willing to share what that’s like and cost?

It's probably not an issue with the air horn. The cause is likely an occasional grounding of the relay for the horn. Often this is due to the grounding of the black wire that leads up through the steering column to the horn button on the steering wheel, or an issue with the horn button itself.

Thanks Bryan. They fixed it saying the relay they first replaced (to solve the problem) wasn’t the right one. Now they believe it will work properly. Just got car back today so will see as time goes on. Vegas is giving it 50-50.

Very good. If the horn beeps when you drive over a bouncy road, then I'm thinking it goes back to a loose ground wire making a connection when it shouldn't. But, fingers firmly crossed that you've fixed the problem.
