I agree there isn't much spread between fourth and fifth... but the stock gear ratio is pretty low so that is definately a contributor to the short spread. The gear ratio on my rearend is 3:90. in the first vspider the t5 was out of an s10 truck - first gear was totally unusable. The new t5 will be out of an 88 - 93 camaro or firebird. Totally necessary to accommodate the v6 was the complete redesign of the steering linkage. Notice that the cross-member is turned around backwards in comparison to stock. The 4.3L Chevy V6 is a rear sump engine. The TC is a front sump engine..baltobernie wrote:oooo ... rack and pinion, as well? Wow!
