IAP cover car.
IAP cover car.
there is a spider on the cover of the IAP catalog I just got. It is very nice looking, and has a chin spoiler and stripes, but I think the hood is minus those bumps on my hood. I was wondering if there is anyone who has seen a late model "large bumped" hood with twin stripes and if they have access to a picture of them. I've always dreamed of my midlife-crisis car (i've got some time to get there) being a shelby cobra 427 blue with two white stripes down it. The Friat strikes me as being similar in general body design and maybe lending itself to a similar paint scheme. Whadya think?
well, i see what you mean, but i don't think cobra's claim to fame is a blue car with two white stripes, so i should be safe.So Cal Mark wrote:don't try too hard to make it look like a Cobra or you may be accused of being a wannabe. Kind of like the guy that puts Ferrari badges on his Spider, or the people that call their Opels mini-vettes

not really planning anything yet, just wondered if there were pictures out there to see.mdrburchette wrote:I've seen a large bump hood with two stripes going between the bumps. It looked sporty. Are you planning to make the stripe as wide as the bump or center a narrower stripe in the middle of the bump?
Same deal here in the US, but my point is more that blue with white stripes is not the ONLY (or standard) paint for a cobra. I've seen them in just about any color you could imagine. I've seen lots of other blue cars with white stripes as well. I was merely mentioning that the spider and the cobra share some similarities in body style and lines, and that the blue with white stripes looks good on a cobra, therefore they should look good on a spider...Spiderboyuk wrote:Quote:

Don't bring it to the UK then Danno - there's certainly blue cobras with white stripes over here.

I wish that some of our vendors would be just ->| |<- that more cooperative. wouldn't take all that much effort to contact a customer about an inquiry concerning his automobile. then relay the contact information if the customer were obliging. Yeash!
I understand privacy, and all that ... but come on! it's not like they don't know how to get ahold of the owner.
i'd be willing to bet that with all the Cobra Kit Cars available, that you could contact one of them for purchase of their bumperettes....without buying the whole kit. just look in the back of any major car magazine, and you should find 5-6 kit car manufacturers advertising. if you do run across a source, i have a friend in Chicago that would love to have it as well.
