Some more new designs

Hope you guys dont mind if I try some a new body look on you to see what you think. I always remove the color of the car to focus on the changes. If it was red or yellow or what ever, some people have a preposition to a favorite color and cant see past that.

New grill, 15" or 16" rims, white wall tires, new bumper, body lowered considerably

I kinda like the white walls, and am still looking for a front blinker that I like. I also want the tires larger than what is on the Spider now, even if I have to change the speedo gear. But still a work in progress.

The grill is distracting, ditch the W/walls, and you did not deal with the front turn signals HA HA! There have been mile long discussions on that one! A " friend" of mine is lookin for an entry level Spider neat Detroit. Any ideas??? Thanks

I like the grill and bumper. get some lights there.

I like the badge moved to front fender.

I like the sidemarker delete.

I like the old style mirrors. Maybe slightly bigger.

The 15" wheels are weird because the tires on them are still really tall and narrow. Try to maintain the current diameter of the wheel/tire combination, giving the 15" wheels a smaller profile of a tire.

I thought those specifications sounded vaguely familiar - the only thing SPYDUH's missing are the white-wall tyres , but at least it has indicators.

Car looks great. Your car looks ready to pounce and definitely looks like a fast car. I was trying for a Grand Touring style. Thinner wheels, white walls, less aggressive looking. Thanks for the web site pics of the car, very cool.

Not bitterly cold, but regular frosts and the occasional snow flurry in mid-winter. The ski fields are less than an hour away.

Very nice looking design. Love the 60's-Euro-cool look. Headed that way myself as you may have seen from a post above.

I have a version of those mirrors on my car now and a word of caution, make sure you get a door mounted mirror. I have fender mounted units mounted on the doors and the passenger side cannot be adjusted far enough to be useful. Looks great but can't see anything.

Really like the grill. I was originally thinking bout a stainless mesh look but may be swayed to something like you have shown here.

Is that a grill you have seen on another car or one you would fabricate yourself?

How do you think a Chrome painted stock 81 grill mounted closer to the opening would look?

SPYDUH's upper and lower grills as well as the air vent holes near the wipers are all made from stainless steel woven mesh. I cut them out from a large (expensive) sheet of mesh, then shaped them and made up some stainless steel brakets similar to the standard fittings which were pop riveted onto the mesh.
I think chrome plating the standard grill would certainly be an improvement, but just like SPYDUH's stainless steel one - it would need a dark (high contrast) body colour to show it off and get the best effect. I like the look of a dark coloured grills in pale cars for the same reason.

the problem with chroming the stock grille is polishing it after the plating. It's just too flimsy to hold up. I had mine powder coated silver, but my personal preference is a dark grille. I think it distracts from the body lines to have the grille stand out too much

Thanks for the link. I just might try that, or some similar variant. Grill is a long way down the road for me, though.
