This Doesn't Look Right....

I just put new trailing arms and an e-brake cable on my car. After routing the cable, I can't understand how the sides are supposed to pass over/under the trailing arms. There are small brackets on them for this (just as with the originals), but the cable seems to be stretching way out of the way just to fit in them. Do I have the arms on wrong? What is this supposed to look like?

the aftermarket brackets are a little different that stock, but the routing is how i have mine set up. I did find a pix of the factory set-up and the cable holder was on the top of the trailing arm, not the bottom. I guess i need to go change mine.

So was mine, except that these arms are identical, so putting the bracket on top will not make for the right angle. I actually had mine this way and switched it for this very reason.

I think that is why i rotated mine to the bottom. the angle matched the cable better.

the arms may not have the bracket in the middle. It looks like you might need to swap the bar end for end if the bracket is offset

That is one thought I had. Although it looks as if doing this will only worsen the problem, as I have it mounted so that the bracket is as close to the brake as possible. Perhaps it just is the way it is and it will be fine.

If not, I will post more pictures to help decipher the problem....once my photobucket starts working again. Probably tomorrow morning.

Not saying it hasn't been changed, but mine run with the cable over the passenger side bar and under the driver side.

That is the way mine were from stock. I have a feeling I actually have both arms on completely backwards and upside down!

Oh well, I have bigger fish to fry at the moment.
