Carburator linkage

I'm attempting to switch our my old carb with a new 32\36 Webber and am having a bit of a problem with hooking up the throttle. I was able to find some threaded bars that are the perfect size and was able to cut, bend and fit one except, I don't know how to actually hook it to the carb. Those little "ball sockets" dont seem to come off of any of my old carbs. Do I have to have one brased on? Or can I just buy one that screws on? Can't find anything on the web.

i believe I read somewhere that Mark Allison sells them.

I got the ball link part from Mark when I installed my 32/36, worked perfects after a little massaging of the linkage rod.

The ball sockets have a metal "sleeve" over them that slides off to remove them. If you twist the whole thing they usually pop off like springs never to be seen again.

If you need a new ball socket Mark does have them although I discovered my local "ace" hardware (one of the big ones with tons of bins of hardware) also sells them and they have other things to help build the perfect linkage. What year is your car?

My car is a 79 and I am looking for the part that comes off of the carb with the actual "Ball" on it. I have a few spare throttle linkages (the pole with the ends that receive the ball and clips). I think I am going to make one as I have found a threaded bar that fits the links. I can just bend the carb end into a 90 degree and use a lock nut to hold it in place.
