Well, I thought it had drums in the rear. am I wrong, are their disc brakes in the rear? the catalog has calipers, and whatnot so I'm assuming it's the disc setup for the rear too. it's the same rotor for front and rear?

Am I safe in assuming that you have just bought your Spider? This is your first? Drums?
To answer your question, yes, they all have rear discs, came standard.
The discs are the same front and rear. The front calipers and rear calipers are not the same. The fronts have a 48mm bore, the rear calipers have a 34mm bore.

wel, yeah, it's my first, and I hear what you are saying. I haven't pulled off the hubcap/wheel to see what's under there, just looked at manuals and catalogs. I said drum because in my owners manual it says (under Brakes)
so I'm sure you can see why I thought that!Front: disk type , with floating caliper and one cylinder to each wheel.
Rear: self-centering, expanding-shoe drum type, with one cylinder to each wheel.

I'm getting this info from the owner's manual. it says Fiat Spider - 2000 (Carburetor System) on the front page. well, anyway, if you guys tell me it has 4wheel discs then cool! wonder why the owner's manual says otherwise?So Cal Mark wrote:you must not be reading a 124 Spider catalog, they all came with 4 whl discs
