Fuel Flow Check Valve

I have a '78 124 spider.... mechanical fuel pump.... I need to replace the in-line fuel flow check valve. It is a quick fix if I can only find the part. IAP and VICK don't stock what I need and have both recommended some "universal" part. I am fine with that but can't really find what I am looking for online. I believe that the fuel line coming off the tank is 10mm but it may be 8mm? Any thoughts, dimensions, parts sources, etc... would be appreciated.

I know I could "go electric" but I'm just not in the mood to mess with that right now... maybe someday

NOt familiar with 78 but I know the older cars have no such device. Where is it located?? The mechanical pump itself is a one=way device.

Melting slowly Bruce, after a recent big dump. But I got both red cars out today for a short shake-down spin after winter projects. All's well and I even had the top down in the sunshine! Happy Spring to you!

I got mine from a VW dealership if I remember correctly. They're available in plastic only so keep it away from anything hot.

You're doing better than me for top down time, Peter. We're into monsoon season here - keep getting "pineapple express" currents coming up from Hawaii dumping record rains on the west coast. Glad I have my boat on the driveway!

Just Google, go to the "fuel and air" section, click on "fuel pumps - filters - lines" and you will see what you are looking for, 4th item down. They are $25.99 and is the exact part you are looking for.
