Cleaning Parts - Varsol, Kerosene or ? - What's best?
I've always used brake clean or carb cleaner. I used kerosene once at someone elses shop. Kero. didn't evaporate as well and I was told not to use it on spark plugs. I've used mineral spirits alot for painting houses and the nice thing about it, is that the paint settles out and you can pour clear spirits off the top to re-use. Then you can pour the sludge into cat litter to "dispose of properly" I don't know if grease and oil will settle out like paint does, but I'm going to give it a try.

Brake cleaner and rubbing alcohol will dry those rubber parts out like now. They'll also eat many plastics. You gotta be darn careful with those.
Also, watch the flash points of your solvents. Stuff that has fumes is also great for giving mice cancer.
Mineral Spirits is used in many commercially maintained wash stations.
