They cut them because they can. With more modern wiring harnesses, people are afraid to cut the wiring. On older cars, people think that they have sufficient skills to cut individual wires. That, and people are basically idiots.

Use the door ringer to power your stereo. When you put the key in the ignition, it will power on. When you remove the key it will power off. It is a great modification!

But I got a car that had caulking on the nuts to hold them together lol
Striped or busted bolts! There was gobs of caulking holding it for strength
