2 Stupid Questions

Post by davery »

I am de-trimming in preparation for painting and have a couple of stupid questions. It looks like I will need to remove the trunk lock to remove the 2000 badge. When I do this, how do I open the trunk?

Also, I am having some body work done by another person and he lives about two miles away. I was planning to remove the tail lights and then just loosely putting them back to drive the car there. Headlights, cowl, bumpers will all be off the car. Does this sound do-able?

D,
You should be able to grab the end of the connecting rod (plastic piece) with a pair of needle nose and pull it sideways once you remove the lock cylinder.
If I was only going 2 miles I'd have my wife follow me with her flashers on, and leave my lights off... But they are pretty easy to take on and off as well.
Looking forward to pictures!!

I'm not intimately familiar with the Pininfarina wiring, but the fuel pump on the fuel injected "Fiat" Spiders is grounded on the left rear taillight, so be aware of that if you remove it. If the wiring is the same on the Pininfarinas then you'll need to be sure that wire is properly grounded to make the trip there and back.
