Front wheel well inner cover, trim or not?

Keeping it sharp - paint, wax, detailing, etc.

Front wheel well inner cover, trim or not?

Post by Boris61 »

In the process of painting my 84 spider and when stripped down it is obvious that both front inner wheel well plastic panels extend well below (by at least an inch) the fender on the bottom front. Is there a reason for this? Thinking about trimming them to make them flush with the body. Anyone else encountered this issue? To trim or not to trim?

Mine act as a kind of mud flap. I don't really notice it, it only hangs down about an inch.
