Frequently, there are electrical connectors under carpeting and if not dried will cause electrical problems.

That's a good Ida too, I notice this pad forms really nice and stays in place too,supplyguy wrote:Capt. John taught me a great tip - glue the heat/sound pad to the back of the carpet and not the floor. Allows to remove the whole section any time you want!
