First of all, it's one of my favorite Spider colors (same as mine...), and if the 11k is true, it's one hell of a deal.
If I had the cash, I'd be on the way to SC to pick it up, now.
It's an 81, so it should be a 6-digit odometer. However, as we all know, it's a Fiat. What should be and what actually happens are two different things, especially with our cars.johndemar wrote:My guess is that the odometer has rolled once already.
Odd.. Mine is an 81, and it has a 6-digit. Also, how does the steering wheel indicate the odometer has rolled over? It's a bit out of the way for me to go look at, but the 11k mileage did make me do a double-take.Tobi wrote:"It's an 81, so it should be a 6-digit odometer."
I had two 1981 Spiders and both had a 5 digit odometer.
The steering wheel shows that the odometer turned over already and the car itself does not look special at all.
Also, how long has the car been siting and does it even run?
The wear on the steering wheel (see it on the spokes where they connect to the grip), as well as the wear you can see on the center console certainly indicates more than 11,000 miles of use.darksider415 wrote: Also, how does the steering wheel indicate the odometer has rolled over?
D'oh... Blame the fancy 1920x1080 display on my 12" laptop. Makes it really, really hard to pick out the little details in small images. Doubly so when I've been sacrificing sleep to work on the Fiat.fiasco wrote:The wear on the steering wheel (see it on the spokes where they connect to the grip), as well as the wear you can see on the center console certainly indicates more than 11,000 miles of use.darksider415 wrote: Also, how does the steering wheel indicate the odometer has rolled over?
