How to decode month of birth for my Spider

Hi
I need to ask You because You forum have a bigger experience with Spiders:)So my plate number (I'm not sure how to call this:)) is missing and i want to make a new one. And I need one thing to finish: a month of production:)


VIN number: ZFAAS00BOB8185338
I was decode this by the online decoder -show me everything except month:(
Manually decoding wasn't help as well

You can look on the Spider list on the German Fiat club's website and try to find cars that have a similar serial number to yours. I have a much smaller list, and I can tell you that VIN ....185804 was made in January of 1981. So yours was made either in December 1980 or January 1981. Either way it would be a 1981 model year.

179094 was produced 7/80 (My brother's)
185804 was produced 1/81 (Csaba)

Doing the math on this - approximately 960 cars a month

185338 - 185804 = 466 cars before Csaba's

So yes, December 1980 or January 1981.

I bet it was made in January 1981. IIRC the cars made in 1980 and badged as 1981 had VINs stamped in them like ZFA*124CS20179094 because the 17 digit VIN wasn't fully in effect until January 1981.

I know the contact in from Fiat Germany.
They know the exact productionmonth and year of my car (US CS0)
They help me very fast and friendly.
