In the body shop

Insurance handed me a check so I pampered myself :p

Since they wrote me a check more than the cost of repairs I threw her into the shop to be painted because the paint job
it had was awful

That's the fuel tank side, as you know. Any dents in the tank? New gaps between the tank and floor (water and fumes)?

for those of you that know paint related stuff, is it possible to clear coat just the steel?

You really need an epoxy primer or polyester primer over metal to hold on to the metal. That is what they do best. The clear coat would not hold up well and start to rust in areas and the clear is formulated to hold to primer not metal. But I am sure that a clear powder coat might work because that bonds to metal perfectly

Ah that is what I thought, I would clear coat it if the car had a flawless body but there are dents in repair and all that stuff so a primer and paint is the best thing for her

Mines not at a shop in particular, its just a guy and his side job and he does pretty decent work for the price. I dont know if you know Carlos down in OB, but he put me in contact with him.

I've talked to Carlos from OB before. He was the PO's mechanic. He knows a lot about fiats. Do you have the contact info for your painter handy?
