Ladies and Gentleman . . .
I would love to test my heater to see if it works but I don't know what the hell I am doing??
After reading through the threads, I am able to gain an understanding of what the three levers are supposed to do but am unsure if I am putting that knowledge into practise. Could someone please explain in lamon's terms the combinations of the levers for both heating and airflow.
Some may say I am simple and mainly I would tend to agree.
thanks . . .

Re: Heater Working ??
The driver's side lever controls fresh air:
Up = maximum air flow
Down = no air flow
The middle controls the heat:
Up = no heat
Down = max heat
The passenger's side controls defrost or lower vents:
Up = defrost vents
Down = defrost and lower vents
Don't forget about the separate air vents located under both sides of the dash. These bring fresh air straight from the cowl.

har har.... caughtcha Denise.
the later 1800's and up (at least '78) don't have those neat little vents under the dash like the older Spiders. I wish they did, and have kept a set off a '74 parts car just in case i figger out how to install them.
would be nice! really nice, but we don't have that luxury. I think when Fiat moved the relays to the underside of the dash, they decided we didn't need to cool our tootsies anymore.

Good grief. This is yet another reason why the early models are superior...need I say more?
BTW Mike, unless you have the tubular surround inside the cowl area, it may not be adviseable to install the vents...or did they leave those there and just do away with the vent opening?

Re: Heater Working ??
nope, our cowls are flat, no tubes. sure would be nice to have those ±3" ports pushing cool air into the cockpit.
I cut the tube & assembly out of the parts car in the hope that someday...
