I have done a search here but can't find if there are any reproductions available for the Firewall ID Plate for my 1980 FI. Mine is a mess, has been all scratched up and is mostly unreadable. Does anyone know if these are being reproduced?

Probably, the KG relate pollutant emissions, EPA, California, ...
I like more your old plate of the new ones .It is an original and has more value. Is its history
You can return it to new. Squeezing plate, grind, and silk screening.
Thanks, that helps a lot, the only info I seem to be missing is "E", the "version". Looks like the Kg data is unused on this plate, which makes some sense since it is on the door plate.
Not sure I would bother cleaning and screen printing this one, although it would mean I wouldn't have to imprint the numbers. Might make sense.

Here you can find the manual in English. Left column, "Fiat 124 Spider America 2000" - "Libretto Uso Manutenzione IE 1981 -1982" http://www.fiat124spider.it/datitecnici.asp
My 80 does not have a firewall ID plate. It is in the drivers side door jam and made of plastic. My 70 spider had an ID plate like yours. I have not reproduced my ID plate but was planning on taking it to a laser engraver to have it reproduced in something besides plastic. With Laser engraving, nothing is printed, but etched, so it won't go away with washing or solvents.
Mine list the GVWR as 1284 Kg. and 2830 lbs.
AZRuss, I think your 80 is supposed to have the plate, it is probably just missing. Every manual I have shows one at the firewall and another at the drivers door jam.

when I got the car it looked like an unmolested engine compartment sans a rebuilt AFM. the ID number is stamped in the upper cross frame of the firewall but no plate or hole indications of a plate like that. If anyone has pictures of the plate location i would love to see it.
Yep, mine has the stamped numbers there too, as well as the plate. The plate is directly under the stamped numbers. Mine is off in this pic, but the 2 mounting screws show the location clearly. I wonder if it was a CA only thing?
