So I installed the Pilot Relay Kit (PLHARN3CT) for my High and Low Beams and it was a breeze! All prewired with housings, took maybe an hour. The lights work beautifully now.
Here's the problem . . . : While installing the power lines to the relays from the Alternator (Bosch late model Alt), the large Brown wire in the Green housing (goes to starter) had snapped off the B+ stud on the Alternator and was disconnected. I did not realize this had happened and I tried to start the car - of course it didn't turn over. I installed a new 8AWG ring on the Brown in Green housing wire and reinstalled this wire, the two 'hots' to the light relays, and the black wire from the DS fender that appeared to be installed when I started. All four wires are on the B+ stud on the back of my Alternator. Now It doesn't have enough power to start (at first ticking, then dash lights fade and nothing), and it's drained my battery. Is my wiring wrong? Should either the Black DS fender or the Brown in Green wire be somewhere other that the B+ stud on the Alternator? Please advise . . .
