Lowering Rear of Spider
Re: Lowering Rear of Spider
low pressure KYB won't raise your car, but the high pressure shocks will. But they're way too stiff for street use anyway

Ok, newbie here with all things suspension, with a silly question... why does removal of federal bumpers cause an increase in car ride height. Is it simply that they are so heavy and at either end of the car with a good amount of cantilever distance, that gravity compresses the springs? Or is there more to it than that?

It's just the weight of the steel bumpers and their associated hardware and nothing more. Kinda like putting a 50 lb bag of sand or the like in the very rear of your trunk (or on the front of the hood), and I would imagine that would lower the car by a quarter inch or half inch at most.
