I've been working hard on my '81 spider restoration project and finally put seats back in and thought I'd take her for a little spin. I went a couple miles and turned around to head back home. Got back up to cruising speed and started going up this long hill - all of the sudden I hear what sounds like a bolt or something hitting the underside of the car near the floor pan or somewhere up front - then I hear what sounds like metal parts bouncing along the roadway behind me. Immediately I'm thinking 'holy s$#%@$# m#@$#@$#!!' - lol -
Car continued with no issues - all sounded and seemed normal. I stopped at a turnout about 1/10th mile up road and walked back along the road for about 40 minutes until I found them laying in the street about 15' from one another. I couldn't locate screws or anything else that might have come off with them.
Completely stumped what this is - anyone recognize it? I'm fairly certain this is from my car as some of the overspray (black) appears to either be from undercoating.
Thanks for whatever ideas come to mind. The little lip edge you see is definitely a factory thing - not from the road, btw. Let me know if you have any questions -
