Transmission mount -- can't find what I need. Help?

Hi All:

I replaced all of the driveshaft-related goodies this past weekend. Rubber donut, driveshaft bearing, u-joints, diff pinion seal, etc.

While I was under there, I wanted to replace my transmission mount since it's getting a bit soft and mushy. I ordered this one below (silver) from Vick and found that it does not fit. The shape and height are correct, but there isn't enough offset so it hits the rear of the transmission case as I tighten it down. I looked on Auto Ricambi and theirs appears to be the same shape. What gives? Any idea where I can get this mount?

The one from AR fit my 78 fine. The picture of your old one looks like a lot more offset than I think it should have? You sure it isn't bent?

is it just an illusion, or is the actual rubber mount portion wider than the replacement?

I've never had a problem with the trans mounts. Hmmmmm.

The width is just a photo trick. They both fit in the bracket just fine.

When I tighten the new mount down, it hits the back of the tranny case which doesn't allow it to lie flat against the tranny. If it didn't do that, I'd think that the old one was bent.

I'll crawl under there again tomorrow and mess with it some more. I did notice that the bracket that the mount bolts two has to sets of mounting studs that are fairly close together. I'm currently using the rear set.
