Hey all. I have a dilemma I'm hoping you can help me with. I have a 1980 FI Spider and I'm trying to figure out what the original color of the car is / was.
The tag in the trunk says it's code 899 Grey Smoke but when I look at the car and in the engine bay (appears to be original) it looks more like avocado code 374. Any guidance is appreciated.
Here is a link to a couple of pics.

Re: Paint color mismatch question
I have a 1980 with the same paint code. While your picture is taken from a ways a way, it sure looks like the same colour as mine.

Re: Paint color mismatch question
I'd trust the sticker in the trunk. No one repaints a car a different color and then goes to the trouble of finding a matching sticker.
Engine bays have lots of heat and grease so color there can be deceiving.
