God, I hesitate to put this to the group, but I have overhauled the 2ltr...rings, bearings, water pump, oil pump, new cam belt, etc and all seems to be ok...great oil pressure, car has more power as someone put the old rings in with the ring gaps beautifully aligned on each piston. Now it is winter here and when I fire it up it gives off this...wait for it...ROWL like sound. It goes away as the car warms up. I have checked belt tension, belt idler bearings etc...there is nothing in the belt train that has not been attended to. The sound appears to come from the belt train area. Just thought someone may have experienced this. Some times it is quite loud, but there all the same.
Lovely to be back on the forum again. Cheers !
