converting a manual to automatic transmission

Post by revaclay »

Has anyone ever converted a 124 CS1 from manual to automatic transmission? If so, can you tell me what all was needed to do the conversion.

Thanks,
So Cal Mark

are you planning on using the GM TH180 that came in the later Spiders? If so, that's a pretty straightfwd swap. Other than the trans, shifter and mount, you'll need to use the auto driveshaft and plumb a cooler.

and oif course the auto flexplate to replace the flywheel!

oh, and you'll need a pair of lace panties too. (what does an Auto Transmission and Panties have in common?) Every girl needs them. (darn that was a hard job to clean up) PM me for the dirty version....

Why not just sell the manual and buy a automatic and save the headache of finding all the parts to do the convertion. Unless you happen to stumble on to someone who has taken out the auto and swapped a manual tranny in or find the whole car in a wrecking yard I don't run into to many that aren't being used as a driver.

bummer we live to far apart i was thinking of changing my auto to a manual the auto realy works great very nice shifting. Gets a little uncomfortable when your lace panties crawl up your a$$. but you learn to live with it. i will probably end up leaving it.
