I do have a partial, bad B&W copy of what I think is the right manual, but I cant be sure since it has no cover.
Anyhow I decided perhaps the best thing is to make one using the text from the bad copy and as many of the figures from the good one as possible. (yes I know M-B will sell me one, but the cost is too high for me, although it does look nice, I saw it this summer)
At the moment I have OCR'd the text, transfereed most of it to Word, copied most of the figures across and am in process of formatting the document but I would like some feedback from you all:
Do I update the document to include the 1981 improvements in areas like timing check and tire changing?
Do I update the document for current lubricants etc?
Do I add descriptions for things like headlight and wiper relays where they have been added?
Do I rationalize the titles and fonts through the document so I can properly generate a table of contents?
Do I add a lubrication points/frequency chart? If so does anyone have one or do I need to go through the shop manual?
I have corrected the spelling errors as I go and I am thinking of adding a section at the back for revisions/changes to the car.
I don't want to make the manual totally specific to my car, since I am thinking it would be good to post somewhere and then others can use, thus the idea of having all the mods at the end of the document so people can make all their changes in one location.
Any other comments, please send.
Oh and if any one has a color PDF with a good white background I can copy the figures from that would be appreciated.
And finally where to I put the document when I am done so you all can make use of it? sample pages shown below.

I look forward to the responses.
cheers
