Hello,
I've been a member of the site for a little over a year now and finally picked up a new-to-me 1969 Spider. The car was listed on Craigslist in Portland and I'm having it shipped down to Santa Barbara in about a week (the CL listing was linked here briefly in the classifieds section.) Pictures to come when the car arrives. I know there is a strong Spider community in the Santa Barbara/Ventura area and I look forward to becoming more actively involved.
One thing I know that cars needs is the correct '69 grill. The previous owner of the previous owner replaced the grill with what looks like generic parts store grill mesh. Any help in locating the correct grill assembly (grill and surrounding stainless trim) would be greatly appreciated. I will post this last part in the classified section as well.
Thanks!
New from Central Coast, CA... and a little parts help?

Hello Vroomgoleta,
Welcome to the forum. Great finding a 1969 Spider. I am located just a little north of you in Orcutt.
The front grill may prove a little difficult to find as it appears no vendors make it for the 68/69 model year. While I have 72" and 85" Spiders, I do prefer this early grill style:
Good luck with your project, and please do post some photos.
Bob

Looks like Auto Ricambi now stocks this grille.

Great Catch David,
It would be nice to get some feedback (build quality & installation) from someone who does install this early style grill.
How far away are you from Fraser Valley? Beautiful area of Canada.

Thanks Bob
I'm on Vancouver Island, so a couple of hours driving and a 2 hour ferry ride to get to the valley. That said I have 3 brothers and my mom in that area, so I get there a few times a year.

HI Dinghyguy
I actually grew up in North Van. Moved to the island in 81. Since then my family has moved, spread between Pitt meadows and Mission. I enjoyed reading about your cross country adventure.
