Transmission Removal
Transmission Removal
I'm bringing the transmission down this weekend to replace the release bearing . I put the car up on jacks tonight and crawled under for some pre-project planning. Everything looks pretty standard except for the top left bellhousing bolt. It looks like a real challenge to loosen it ! Anyone got any suggestion, advise or warnings i should know before attempting this project? It will be greatly appreciated.

....... and undo the rear gearbox mount to allow the back of the engine to tilt down.So Cal Mark wrote:get the longest extension you can find and a swivel socket
The top starter motor bolt is also hard to get at. A 3/8 drive 13mm socket on a swivel joint with a long extesion will make it easier.

thanks, both of you confirm what i was thinking. lowering the rear of the tranny seemed like it might gain a little more space, but it will still take extentions, swivel and patience.
