Is it possible to replace a lower ball joint without removing the lower A-Arm? I assume I'd still have to remove the lower shock bolt, compress the spring and remove sway bar bolts, but does the A-Arm have to come off?

I think you can leave the spring and shock in place. Just make sure you have the a arm supported when you drill out the rivets. I know you can do the uppers.
