Sipea 0218 delay relay

Post by dinghyguy »

So my sipea 0218 delay relay for the seatbelt system has burned out. Searching around I found on the x 19 forum a thread about building a new circuit to do the same thing, and elsewhere i found delay timer relays but nowhere have i actually found anyone actually stating that a ????? relay can be used in place of the Sipea 0218.

Yes i can jumper the circuit to make the lights go out, but i would prefer to actually have the correct function.
And yes maybe Midwest might have some used ones, but a better solution would be to find a replacement currently available part. So has anyone found a replacement for the SIPEA 0218 delay relay? I so what is the part number.

thanks

Have to check the junk box, but I may have one since I removed that function due to the obnoxious buzzer.

I came across this great thread a few weeks ago but wouldn’t be able to replicate his work without lots of practice first;

I ended up finding a NOS 0218 on eBay but would be curious to see what alternatives / work arounds there are!

I think the delay cube in its circuit is a pretty reliable device. However people electrical troubleshooting issues with their cars swap the delay cube into a relay socket. This causes the heating element to burn out. A good working used delay cube would most likely be pretty reliable. Maybe they should have been manufactured a different color, to let people know they are not a relay.

I did find one, but can't vouch for its functionality without testing it.
If it tests out ok it's yours.

If the relay the other member found doesn't work out I know I have one in spares. I laid out everything spare I had at Fiat Freakout for free and had literally no one even look?
