Having returned safely after buying a Fiat 124 Spider 1980 car in Norway and driving it back to England, I am in need of some help... Need a starter motor, although I made it from Norway to England (2200 km) without one, I guess it's sort of convenient..
The current starter is a Marelli 63222409-m2, 11-z11
Hope to enjoy the car for many years...

Glad you safely made the long drive home.
You can find rebuilt units all over Europe. Or have someone at home in England rebuild it there.
If you really want a good unit though you should go with a new Gear Reduction High Torque Starter.

Re: 124 Fiat dream
There most be something with me and 124 Spiders....
I sold the immaculate silver 1982 124 Sport Spider I collected in Norway, as it just was to nice a car for me.
Worried about leaving it outside in the UK weather and indeed parking it away from the house.
Gone the opposite spectre of 124 and acquired another 1982 124 Sport Spider, but with many blemished and rot in body.
I am very happy with it and use it regularly.
However it also needs a starter motor.
I guess it is to be expected that these nearly 40 year old cars need something, but two Fiat 124's and two starter motors is the status so fare
