Hi,
my name is Johannes, I am 26 years old and from Austria. In October 2019 I bought a 1978 Spider CS1 US Version. It already has the europe bumpers.
At the moment I´m making a new wood dashboard and wood pads for the trunk carrier rack (which is not mounted yet).
It is in good condition, less rust, nice painting, the usual crack in the dashboard (but already closed and will be covered with leather).
I´m here at the forum because I have already found a lot of useful information and still need to learn a lot about the car.
Here are some pictures.
Hello from Austria

Re: Hello from Austria
Wow, what a beautiful car! In my opinion, that is the perfect color combination for a Spider.

Is that a chrome strip on the HINGE side of the trunk?

Hello Roller,
yes this is a chrome strip, there is also one on the edge of the hood next to the wipers.
One of the PO´s put this there, it is mounted with glue but you can remove it.
I own the car since three month and it is stored in a garage over the winter, in the spring i try to remove the strips and i hope the edge is not rusted or the paint is chipping

Hello Johannes,
welcome to the forum. My name is Steiny, living in California but originally from Germany.
I like your spider a lot!
Good luck on removing the chrome strips without damaging the paint. Fingers crossed.
