Hi everyone,
I've had my 1978 Spider for a year, but this is my first post.
Please forgive the newbie ignorance, and if there is already a thread on this topic, please point me in the right direction.
I am about to replace my old points type distributor with an electronic one. It looks fairly straightforward, except for one thing. I'm not sure where to hook up the vacuum advance on the distributor. I should mention that I have a Weber 32/36 DFEV carb, and I see the vacuum port. It is currently hooked up to a hose that goes into the firewall; where it goes after that, I don't know.
Any advice? Can I put a T in the hose and run one branch to the distributor?
Thanks in advance.

Markko, yes you can run a t-fitting for the vacuum line. The port is right above idle mixture adjustment screw. The line that disappears behind the firewall likely connects the air pump emissions diverter valve.
