Greetings from Cleveland, Ohio

Hi, I recently purchased a 1979 Spider 2000. All emission control has been removed and it has a 34 ADF carb, that was pouring gas out the venturi at idle. First big achievement was clearing out the plugged path to the idle jet.
This forum has been invaluable source of information already for helping to guide me with replacing the front and back suspension (love the VAS hydraulic shocks!) and even for getting the 34ADF to run pretty solidly. Car now keeps up with traffic no problem even when getting on the freeway. Kept me sane during the quarantine and during my furlough weeks.

The car drives pretty solid now. Makes me smile every time I drive it. Upcoming projects:
1. Driveshaft support bushing is pretty loose, so planning to rebuild between the guibo and the differential flange
2. Oil is leaking from the driver side somewhere. Hoping it is the 90-degree short hose between the block and the oil separator
3. There is somewhat of a faint gasoline smell while driving, pretty much any speed. Not super-annoying but would be good to sort it out.
4. Clicking sound coming from the top of the engine. The cam gaps checked out perfect (thanks to the PO), so this is a mystery.

Welcome.
I'm in Toronto. My '83 was originally sold to a woman in Ohio.

And are you suggesting that my car shouldn't always have a faint gas smell?? :)
