DIY Bumper Delete Lights

In an effort to get some sort of turn signals I headed to my local NAPA. I was helped by a car nut to find something that would go in the Ralph Nader bumper holes.

I found a solution which requires the drilling of 2 pilot holes for screws or not if you are crafty with some washers.
Here is the picture, and I will keep everyone in suspense until tomorrow when I am back at the shop where the boxes with part numbers await.

There are 2 bezel options. I chose the one without the 'eyebrow' detail, but I might go back and get the other one. I am also considering painting the bezel black.

You can angle them before you tighten down the compression style grommet... I think.

Hi there. I deleted the tube bumpers as well. I went to a honda motorcycle shop and found a couple of rear turn signals for a bike.They come out at right angles. I think they were about $20 cdn total. I made a spacer for the end to screw into ( a machine shop can do this) or I was told a spacer for electrical trays might work. and then drilled a hole into the support bracket for the front tube. A washer,and nylock nut held it together. the lights are in the air hole to the outside and the tube holes have the rubber bumperettes.I'll try a photo[img]http://i708.photobucket.com/albums/ww88 ... iatlt2.jpg[http://i708.photobucket.com/albums/ww88 ... t1.jpg/img]Haven't figured out how to get the picture up yet but they are in all these letters if someone can pull them out great thank you.

I cant seem to get the pics to zoom for a better look,but the fit looks great.Do you have a part number,or model of the bike they came off? Those lights,and some SoCalMark bumperettes,and I could be on my way to bumper delete.Yeah!!

Good morning. The lights actually came from a box of lights they had, all in individual plastic bags. Penticton Honda is the place I used but I'd guess most honda stores that sell bikes and quads would have them. I think they would be off an enduro type bike. Too bad I did not get a shot of the spacer,needed about an extra 3/4 - 1 inch and used a right angle drill to get at the supports.

PS can you see the bumpers are held in place with springs. One each side of the metal "rod" seems to work well, no movement,used a string to pull them back and ran the bolt through the ends. the rears are different. Need to fabricate something different there.

Where did you find your bumperettes? How much? I have seen a couple versions on Ebay, but the set I like will cost $400 by the time it gets to my door.
