Ca Smog

Post by geospider »

PASSED the dreaded Ca Smog. damn the '79 ADHA carb is horrible. it's amazing how bad it runs with this but passes with low numbers.
now to switch back to the 32/36.
A few hours every 2 years and a fair bit of stress.

time for the celebratory beer; even at 11 am. it's a Saturday after all.

Find a friend or relative who lives on the other side of 5 and register it at their address, you won't have to smog it again until you sell it.

Well, that ship sailed now that my daughter will be starting Vet school in the fall in Pomona and leaving Reno.
1 bad day and stress, but has passed 3 times.

Well done, Geo! I always stress every 2 years, but for my '93 Jaguar (my Fiats are exempt due to age). Every time the Jag is right on the line on hydrocarbons, but it's been that way since I got it in 1996. Just the way it is. Sometimes it passes. Sometimes it fails and I take it to another place and it passes. Go figure.

Did it again, huh?! Congrats,...and you DESERVE that beer!
I KNOW what it took to put that back together each time, every two years - and you've done it three times now!
And then to disassemble and revert back to the DFEV,...
Strong work, geo!
I wonder how mine would run with all of the ol' dual plane/ADHA/emissions B.S. back on it,....well maybe not.
Keep up the fine work, my friend! Happy motoring!
