Hi Guys,
i have a 1985 Pinninfarina Azurra. The car is a bit of a Frankenstein. The previous owner had an issue with the Fuel Injection that he couldn't solve so he converted to a carburetor from a previous year. I cannot figure out how to attach the kickdown cable to carburetor linkage. The cable is just sitting loose one the top off the motor.
Would you anyone have information on how this connects? Pictures, manual snapshot, etc?
Thanks in advance.

Re: 1985 Kickdown cable
Your car has an automatic transmission?! Sorry that I don't already know about the Azurra,...
In any case,...so does mine! And I checked my pics - can't find a good one that shows the linkage well. I will take a good pic tomorrow and post.
Essentially, the accel. cable pulls on both the carb linkage and kick-down cable at the same time (via the lever in the linkage). When the kick-down reaches it's adjusted limit, it pulls, and down-shifts the tranny,...

Hi,
Yes, I have an auto....unfortunately. I appreciate the help. I suspect I am missing the linkage. Would love to see your photo whenever you can. Thanks again!

Re: 1985 Kickdown cable
Throttle cable is on the bottom,...accelerator linkage is at the top. Kick-down cable is mounted between the two, on a bit of an angle,...
Kick-down adjustment is 9mm of 'pull', once the cable has reached it's (adjusted) ball-end (as it comes to Wide Open Throttle). I hope that makes sense, and I hope this helps,...
Happy Motoring!

My Spider IS a '79,...It's possible that the '85 has a different arrangement. But Fiat was not known for changing basic things much,...especially something like linkage for the auto tranny.
