CS1 difference between USA end EU engine block

Bjorn, I wish I could be more helpful, but I don't know much about the non-US engines. As you noted, a 1974 spider should have a 132A1.040.4 engine, but it seems like this was changed (probably in Europe) to a European engine. I don't recognize the 132AC1.000, but the number following it is most likely just the serial number of the block. And you ended up with a Lancia cylinder head.

As far as I know, Weber carbs were used exclusively in US models, so the Solex would seem to confirm that it's a European engine.

Yes, US models generally had lower compression engines to conform to US emissions standards at the time. I think this was mostly achieved with domed pistons, but there could be slight differences in combustion chamber shape (volume).

Got a lot of small stuff fixed:
- hooked up the wires for the convertible top
- installed a new coolant temperature guage sender.
- fixed the brake efficiency warning light.
- fixed the loose battery cable lugs
- cleaned up a few grounding points
and installed 3-point retractable seat belts.
So now I am just wating for the rain to stop (it's like we are having monsoon here in Sweden)
