Fog or driving lamps mounting solutions
Does anyone have any suggestions for mounting fog lamps or driving lamps on the tube bumpers of an 81 Spider. Photo's and makes and model numbers of lamps would be of help. Thanks

Sorry, I couldn't find a picture, but here's a youtube link to one. He removed the center lower tube and mounted the lights, also interesting treatment on the rear.

no picture to provide, but as you search for the setup that most fits your individual taste, consider this. many of those pictures you will see involve drilling holes into or through the tubes. something that i did not care for.
i discovered that the local home depot sold electrical conduit in large diameter. the accessories for conduit include perfect mounting straps for securing a miriad of items to 1 1/2" conduit... also perfect for strapping a lamp to a Fiat front fender!

Hi Mike,
Great idea. Didn't like the idea of drilling the tubes either. Home Depot is right down the street from me and will be a good place to start. Another item that I have seen is the bumper pistons drilled and the bumpers pushed closer to the body. A really nice look. Thanks

we mounted those lights for Alberto, aka Pintopower. The lights are mounted in the lower grille opening. I have another customer that had us mount 4" round fog lights in the corners of the upper grille and it looks very good also
Re: Fog or driving lamps mounting solutions
mark, i would be interested in knowing how you mounted those 4" lamps in the corner of the upper grill... now that i have stripped my big bumpers off my car. also, would love to see a picture of that set up, as it is the one i am considering.

Looks real good Tappy, I like the scorpion (looks Ferrari-ish). Where are your turn signals?
Re: Fog or driving lamps mounting solutions
If no-one minds I was thinking to put fog lights on my car when that time comes. I love the look of the car without the bumpers. I was thinking to use the square holes for them. Then I thought....no. What I came up with and I don't know if there is room there. But to put the fog lights behind the bottom front grill. Has anyone tried this area for installation of fog lights? Keep in mind I'm putting bumperettes here.
