I believe few previous generations of Corvettes had the backup lights on either side of the license plates. The latest generation has them at the very bottom, right next to the tail pipes.

Hi -

why don't you go for a setup as used by the Ferrari 330 etc.? They use backup lights integrated into the round ones:

I already have the lights and those would cost about $900.00 or more. I wish I could say I have a budget. But it's when the money shows up. LOL Here's what I got.Image

The Ferrari look is cool. Maybe you could just use some sort of el cheapo light clamped under the bumper until the budget permits? You don't ever expect your car to be "finished" do you?

 I'm hoping for next summer. Just because of getting it prepped and painted takes $$. Though I'm still in the phase of fabricating and getting the rust out. It comes down to money.

How about one of these. I plan on adding the rear fog to mine but the clear would make a great reverse light.

Thanks Rook1,
They look pretty cool. I was also looking at these and actually modifying the back to have them within the valance area.

I know you said you already had the lights but I noticed over the weekend that a '06 Chevy Cobalt has the same light setup (Round with the reverse in the center) as the Ferrari and I would imagine that those lights would be easier to come by and a bit cheaper as well.

Why not keep it in the family and use those from a Fiat 850 Coupe?

Hi all,
Thanks for all your suggestions. :D
Here's what I came up with. I have the sockets ready for the tail lights as you see in the earlier picture. I decided to use a VW back up lights for the reverse. I'll show pics when I get a visible view of what it will look like.

Here's an updated pic. with the light sockets closed in. :P Even though I put the seams in the back,I'm thinking of filling them in with bondo to give an even look in reference of the distance between the lights.
What do you guys think?
