The plastic electrical connector to the cold start valve on my '83 is broken in half. The PO secured the connector to the valve by using twisted wire. I don't want to put it back with the twisted wire. I searched the usual FIAT catalogs and most seem to sell the connectors for the fuel injector and has 2 wires. The cold start valve connector has 3 wires! Looks like the one pair out of the 3 wires are connected together. Can anyone please confirm that I can use the fuel injector connector for the cold start valve? If not kindly point me in the right direction.
Pininfarina must have done something different with the wiring to the valve Europa. I'm not at home to check, but I'm pretty sure before 83 they had two wires. I bought an extra one off a junked car a couple of months ago, and I recall it having two wires. Mark, you carry those replacement connectors that don't use the wire keeper, you know what's up with this?

the replacement ends I sell still use a wire retainer, but slightly different style that is VERY easy to remove. They are two wire. I think the cold start connector is being mis-identified if it is 3 wire. I'd like to see a pic of it. Are we talking about the cold start INJECTOR? or something else. I've never seen any injector that had a 3 wire connector, there wouldn't be a need for it. 3 wire sensors all use a reference voltage
Mark, I am talking about the connection to the cold start injector. I'll try to get a picture of it. To the best of my recollection, I saw 3 wires. I will re-verify and report back.
Looks like you're not crazy after all Europa. I got home this evening, went out to the garage to check the extra connector I have, and sure enough, it has three white wires! It makes sense, now that I think about it. The other injectors only need two to complete the ground circuit, but the cold start injector is tied in with the thermo-time switch, which would mean another wire. So, even though the cold start injector is supposed to be the only one with a blue connector, it looks like the one pictured from IAP is for the other injectors. Which brings up the question: Where do you get a three wire connector? I've heard that our cars use the same connectors as found on VW and other cars (Bosch FI) so maybe that's the way to go. I do have the spare I picked up out of a wrecking yard, and I don't need it right now, so if you can't find one, let me know and you can have it for what it cost me.

Thank you so much for looking at your spare connector. My car is at my friend's garage as the engine is being rebuilt. I appreciate the offer. Either way we need to figure out a replacement source. I am also going to look at the wiring diagram closely.
